Our Story

Founded in October, 2026, by Matthew Phythian, our aim is to provide young Canberrans the news that directly affects them. So often we hear news that disturbs us, or news that we find horrifying. We acknowledge how important this news is, and we strive to provide a youth perspective on these topics. We are directly a non-for-profit outlet, because we believe quality news should be free news. All of our articles are cross-checked before we publish and we always cite our sources. If you believe that we have not cited your direct work, please email us with a direct copy of your work and how we may have cited it. When we began in October, we began, and continue to be, a sole operating business. This means that our news will take more time to publish, however we always ensure that our work is up-to-date, verified, and quality checked. If you believe that there may be traces of misinformation in any of our stories, please email us. Canberra is known for it's diverse population, from people that have come from overseas, people new to the city, people that have lived here all their life, different cultures, different identities, and different ways of self-expression. Our goal is to provide youth-friendly, relatable news, while steering away from judgement where possible.
